The Nightmare on State Street Shirt

When Game Day Turns Into a Nightmare

At first glance, the artwork feels like a vintage horror poster. Look closer and the joke becomes unmistakably football.

The center of the The Nightmare on State Street Shirt features a wildcat character dressed in a striped sweater and fedora-style hat, complete with clawed fingers and a mischievous expression. Behind him stands a green “STATE ST.” sign, while a couch burns nearby and silhouetted fans celebrate in the background.

Above the scene, the hand-drawn “A Nightmare on State Street” lettering gives the design its horror-film-inspired identity. The smaller “They’re Going for Two!” phrase adds the football punchline, connecting the nightmare theme with one of the most recognizable decisions in the game.

Rather than relying on a straightforward team graphic, this shirt plays with fan culture through parody. The bright blue base keeps the artwork instantly noticeable, while black, white, orange and green details give the central illustration the look of an old-school graphic tee.

It is a fun choice for anyone drawn to wildcat football shirts, game-day humor and designs that reference football culture without looking like another conventional sports tee.
