This might be my favorite decision in the pictured lineup.

Rather than selecting five players from the same period, the set includes Troy Polamalu, whose Steelers career ran from 2003 through 2014. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020.

Visually, his card stands out immediately—the long hair, No. 43 and black uniform create a completely different silhouette from the older player designs.

Historically, it also gives the collection a bridge between eras.

The Steelers won four Super Bowls during their extraordinary 1970s run and later added championships in the 2005 and 2008 seasons.

Suddenly those five cards cover a much bigger Steelers story.

Bradshaw Would Be the Card I’d Put in the Middle

The pictured Terry Bradshaw card focuses on 1978, and that’s a particularly fitting season to highlight.

Bradshaw was named NFL MVP that year, then led Pittsburgh to victory in Super Bowl XIII and earned Super Bowl MVP honors. He would win Super Bowl MVP again the following season.

I’d probably put his card in the center, with Harris and Swann on one side and Greene on the other.

Polamalu gets his own spot slightly apart from them—not because he belongs any less, but because he represents another chapter.
