Top Gun 40th Anniversary Maverick And Goose Christmas Ornament

Forty Years Later, the Wingmen Are Back on the Tree

The first thing this ornament celebrates isn’t Christmas. It’s a friendship fans have remembered for four decades.

At the center of the Top Gun 40th Anniversary Maverick And Goose Christmas Ornament, Maverick and Goose appear together in flight suits, each holding a striped flight helmet bearing their respective call signs. Behind them, a fighter jet and aircraft-carrier deck stretch across a glowing sunset, recreating the aviation atmosphere that defines the design.

Then comes the detail that gives everything context: “40th Anniversary 1986–2026.”

Rather than treating the anniversary as a small footnote, the artwork makes it part of the centerpiece.

Maverick. Goose. One Image That Says Top Gun.

There is plenty happening in the background, but the composition keeps returning to the duo.

The Maverick and Goose helmets introduce recognizable red, white, and blue accents. The large Top Gun emblem sits directly beneath them, while the aircraft, carrier tower, deck crew, and warm sky expand the scene without pulling attention away from the two central figures.

Christmas details are worked around that cinematic imagery rather than replacing it. Snow-covered trees, greenery, berries, wrapped gifts, and small gold accents frame the lower portion, creating a transition from Top Gun nostalgia to a seasonal display.

The result feels like an anniversary tribute first and a Christmas ornament second—which is precisely what can make it stand out among more traditional holiday decorations.

From 1986 Movie Night to Christmas 2026

For longtime fans, the 1986–2026 anniversary gives the ornament an easy place in a personal collection.

It can hang prominently on a Christmas tree, become part of a movie-themed holiday section, or sit alongside aviation memorabilia and other Top Gun-inspired collectibles. An ornament stand can also turn it into a small seasonal display for an office, media room, home theater, or collector shelf.

Fans building a tree around favorite movies can use the aviation scene as a focal piece, while someone with a broader 1980s collection can pair it with other keepsakes tied to films and memories from that era.

After Christmas, it can be stored with anniversary memorabilia and brought back each holiday season as a reminder of the Top Gun 40th Anniversary.

For the Maverick to Your Goose

The partnership at the center of the artwork also gives this ornament a natural gifting angle.

It can be a fun Christmas gift between best friends or longtime “wingmen,” particularly when Top Gun is a movie they have watched together for years. It also suits movie collectors, aviation enthusiasts, 1980s film fans, and anyone marking the movie’s 40-year milestone in 2026.

For a spouse, sibling, parent, friend, or fellow fan who still recognizes “Maverick and Goose” as more than two names on a movie poster, the emotional connection is already built into the design.
